Julie is a freelance writer and editor living in northern Italy with her husband and two kids. She also is the co-founder and managing editor of


Julie is the former food and wine editor of the San Antonio Express-News and former managing editor of Sauce Magazine in St. Louis, Missouri.


She also has taught high school composition and British Literature, adult creative writing, and college writing at Columbia University, Washington University and University of the Incarnate Word.


Julie completed an MFA in nonfiction from Columbia University.
